Conservation Areas are Private Lands
The Conservation Areas are owned by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs as “Fee” private lands. State and local laws apply at these Conservation Areas. Regulated public access is allowed with a valid access permit. These are not public lands – access is a privilege.
Conservation Easement
All conservation areas are in a conservation easement held by Bonneville Power Administration. These easements legally dictate land uses and have prohibitions listed. Property regulations reflect these easements to ensure the conservation values on these properties are protected.
Access via Permission
All visitors must fill out a daily access permit which requires release of liability and indemnity agreement. At Pine Creek, sign-out forms are also required.
